60.Transkei. Intersapa Album No. 1 Mint..  From Inception (“Independence”) to 1981 Flies. Appears complete with all stamps mint unmounted and control blocks/strips, but not all miniature sheets or FDCs. Nevertheless, the album catalogues at close to R3 750. Condition is good with a little colouration on the album pages but does not seem to appear on any stamp.                                                                                    Value: R1 000

 

61.Transkei. Intersapa Album No.1 Used.  Companion album to No.1(60) but fine used. Close to complete and condition OK. Cannot see any rust. Catalogue about R3 750. Value is about the same as Mint i.e. R1 000

  4.   Transkei Intersapa album No 3 Used. Companion to album No 3. (64) above. Most stamps and control strips, but few covers.  Catalogued at approx R500.   Value R 150 (album!).
  5.  Rhodesia & Rhod/Nyasaland & Ceylon. Turquoise album with few earlies then mostly Rh. Commems of ‘70s in blocks. Not too affected. Ceylon of George V fairly comprehensive but rusty.                            Value: R150
  6. Rhodesia. Green album. Sprinkling of earlies, then quantities of duplicates of low values of between wars, few QE2 up to £1 used.                  Value R150

  3. Bophuthatswana. Pre-printed album 1977 – 1980. Used. Stamps and strips appear complete with FDCs and sheets and only two FDCs of the period show rust. Album pages are mottled, however. Catalogues close to R3 000. Value R950.

3A. “SPACE CONQUEST” Collection. A truly fantastic collection in 2 x  22-ring albums. Comprising 206 sets – 1144 stamps and 21 Miniature Sheets and also about 300 stamps in stockbook not yet mounted (– or swops). The descriptions in the albums are meticulously done throughout in black ink. A labour of love…

A unique and valuable item in this extraordinary collection, is the page featuring Neil Armstrong – and signed by him!  There are 3 letters from Armstrong and Collins. Included in the collection are 4 space reference books and 4 catalogues.

This collection won a bronze medal at Elpex in 1976 – which is a very high award for a thematic collection.  Today it would take many years to assemble.
